LEARN THE BASICS

Cricket explained, clearly.

Small details can make match figures easier to read. Start with these common concepts.

01

Run rate

Run rate shows average runs scored per over. Overs must be interpreted as balls: 12.3 means twelve overs and three balls, not 12.3 decimal overs.

Calculate run rate →
02

Batting strike rate

Strike rate describes how many runs a batter scores per 100 balls faced. It is a scoring-speed measure, not consistency by itself.

03

Bowling economy

Economy rate measures runs conceded per over. Consider overs bowled, wickets, match conditions and role when comparing bowlers.
